BC Real Estate Update
Here's the latest Provincial Real Estate update from the Cameron Muir, chief economist with BCREA. Pretty clearly a flat market this past year in the Kootenays as you can see from the stats on the 3rd page. http://www.bcrea.bc.ca/news_room/2010-11.pdf

Strong Market Kicks Off 2010
Despite the overwhelming sense of caution that most people are feeling with respect to the residential real estate market in BC this year, the numbers show a pretty different story.
The Kootenays, as of the end of February 2010, have experienced an upswing in sales numbers - and a big one. Unit sales are up 85% year-to-date over the same period last year and we've even seen a small increase in average sales prices as well.
The BCREA has some great info on this and you can read their entire press release here: BCREA March Release
